Jewellery Repair in Brampton: Same Day, Fixed in Front of You
Most jewellery repair in Brampton goes the same way. You hand over a ring, a snapped chain, a bangle that cracked. It disappears behind a wall. You get a ticket and a date to come back. And somewhere in the back of your head sits the question nobody says out loud: is the gold that comes back the same gold I handed over?
We do it differently. At our counter on Torbram Road, your repair happens in front of you. The work bench is at the counter, not in a back room. You watch the chain get soldered. You watch the ring go on the mandrel. Your gold never goes in the back. Most jobs are done the same day; many while you wait. Call (905) 799-6700 first to confirm timing for your piece.
Ring Sizing While You Wait
Ring resizing is the most common job, and the one most often done while you wait. At the counter: we measure your finger and the ring with a sizing gauge before any cutting; for sizing down we remove a small section and re-join the band, for sizing up we add metal of the same karat and colour; the join is soldered, filed smooth and polished so the seam does not show; you try it on before you pay. Rings with stones along the band, tension settings, or eternity bands take longer and may be a same-day pickup — we tell you which yours is, and what it costs, before we start.
Chain and Clasp Solder Repair
A snapped chain, a clasp that will not catch, a jump ring that dropped your pendant — these are solder jobs done at the counter while you watch. We match the solder to your metal so the repaired link is the same colour and karat. Worn clasps get replaced rather than patched — lobster, spring ring or box clasp in matching metal — because a clasp that failed once will fail again. We carry common clasps in stock, so most of this is same-day. Bring the pendant if it came off.
Prong Re-Tipping and Stone Tightening
If you feel a stone move when you tap the setting, the prongs are worn thin. Re-tipping rebuilds the worn tips with fresh metal so the stone is held the way it was set. We check every prong, tighten the setting, and you check the stone is solid before you leave. Often same-day for a single stone. A wobbly stone is the cheapest repair you will ever do and the most expensive thing to ignore.
Polishing, Rhodium and Bringing the Shine Back
Years of wear leave gold and silver dull and scratched. Polishing removes fine surface scratches; white gold that has gone yellowish can be re-plated with rhodium so it is bright white again. Most of this is same-day. We tell you straight when polishing is worth it and when a piece is too worn to improve much — you decide, no pressure either way.
Restringing, Engraving and the Smaller Jobs
- Restringing — beaded necklaces, pearl strands and prayer beads re-strung, with knots between pearls where the original had them.
- Engraving — names, dates, initials, or a short line inside a ring or on a pendant.
- Bangle and kada repair — cracks soldered, joints re-fused, shapes rounded back out.
- Earring repair — replaced posts, re-soldered backs, fixed hooks.
Call (905) 799-6700 and we will tell you the turnaround for your piece before you make the trip.
Why You Watch the Whole Thing
Repairs happen in your sight because it answers the one fear that keeps people from getting jewellery fixed at all: that the gold handed back is not the gold handed over, or that a stone got swapped out of sight. When the work happens in front of you, that question disappears. 412 of your neighbours have stood at this counter and watched us do it. You shouldn't have to wonder.
